Black Panther is the latest installment in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). It came out in theatres, in Canada, the 16th of February. An immediate critical and commercial success, Black Panther had the second highest opening weekend of any MCU movies and scored a 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating. The movie was fun, unique and the special effects were amazing. The characters were all unique and enjoyable. There is finally a movie where each and every female character was well developed and essential to the plot of the movie. Black Panther himself was a great character, being a leader, yet not complaining about too much responsibility like so many other superheroes. The film also gave us a great villain in Erik Killmonger, having fleshed out motivations and a believable story arch. Black Panther is a must-watch for hard core Marvel fans and those who haven’t seen any of the other movies.
