As Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week came to a close, it marked the beginning of Fashion Month, where designers, fashion bloggers and celebrity models would gather in the fashion capitals of the world to debut Spring/Summer 2018 collections. With this in mind, there are so many new trends to try out this month, including holographic beauty, the classic trench coat and supporting the #MeToo movement through fashion.

The future is now and it is starting with holographic makeup. At Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Pat McGrath and John Galliano created the ultimate holographic look inspired by iPhones. McGrath emphasized the jawline, cheekbones, lips and forehead with iridescent edgings and reflective layering, inspired by bionic beings. Try the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Mars, which gives a flawless holographic glow to the skin or the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Sunset Cove, which provides an easy application and sparkle to the eyes.

The trench coat is a staple item in everyone’s wardrobe. This season, trench coats are all about a classic silhouette in every shape possible with a twist. Designers are constantly changing and reworking the classic piece of outerwear, a key element in many collections. From Fendi’s trench coat with furry hearts to Valentino’s take on the classic trench coat, this coat is an absolute essential. Off the runway, the trench coat is the perfect jacket to wear in-between seasons. Embrace your inner detective and invest in a simple camel trench coat or if you’re feeling bold, try a sequin trench coat to add some sparkle to your wardrobe.

Just in the past couple of months, celebrities have joined together in solidarity in support of the #MeToo movement. At the Grammys, celebrities including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Sam Smith wore white roses along with their show-stopping looks. Meanwhile, on stage, Kesha, along with a group of supportive female artists, wore white during her powerful performance of “Praying.” Then, at the State of the Union, Melania Trump wore a white pantsuit by Christian Dior and a silk blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, similar to a suit Hillary Clinton wore for her speech at the Democratic National Convention back in 2016. All of these stars have an enormous platform to make a statement with their clothes. Follow in their footsteps and show your support in the clothes you wear by wearing a simple white rose or sport a tee with #MeToo.
